In his book, "The Pursuit of God," A.W. Tozer writes: "
"For it is not mere words that nourish the soul, but God Himself, and unless and until the hearers find God in personal experience they are not the better for having heard the truth. The Bible is not an end in itself, but a means to bring men to an intimate and satisfying knowledge of God that they may enter into Him, that they may delight in His Presence, may taste and know the inner sweetness of the very God Himself in the core and center of their hearts." (Tozer, A.W.. The Pursuit of God (p. 21). Baker Publishing Group. Kindle Edition.)
The challenge for us today in the midst of pressure, pandemics, peril, and prevalent sin is will be sidelined by our love of everything but God? Will we pursue the blessing instead of the Blesser; the Gift instead of the Giver; the creation instead of the Creator?
That is the challenge that is set before us. As David says in Psalm 63:8 (KJV) "My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me."
Will we follow hard after God? Will we be in pursuit of God?
THE PURSUIT is our new series and will be an exposition of Psalm 63 as we take a glimpse into the life of David and learn how we can PURSUE GOD!
